We are a friendly, informal, family-orientated church in Shipley, 3 miles north of Bradford (West Yorkshire, UK).
Christian Life Church consists of ordinary people who know Jesus, God's Son, and want to share the Love of God, which they have experienced with others in their community.

We believe that Jesus is relevant to our culture and society and that He continues to changes lives as He has throughout history. We realize that there are many problems and pressures which face both young and old alike – alcohol abuse, drugs financial hardship and sexual issues to name but a few. Family units are being destroyed, moral and ethical standards are nearly non-existent and nobody seems to care!
But for those of us who know Jesus it is different. We have experienced the love of God that helps us face these issues with hope in our hearts. It is because we know that God is for us; He loves us and wants the best for us. And not just us, but for you and your family also.
Our desire is to be a church of people who love and serve God, and because of that we are committed to helping, encouraging and caring for those in the community.
Christian Life Church was birthed in February 1996 coming from the hearts of Paul and Kjersti Hubbard. The vision of the church and it's values have remained constant since that time. The vision comes directly from Ephesians 4:11-16 and is made up of 8 points.
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ – from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
Gift Ministry
The Lord Himself has given ministry gifts into the body locally and world wide. We believe God has given ministry gifts to this church and that through the five fold ministry the members are equipped and released to move in their gifting.
Equipping
We believe that the Lord loves every part of His body and His desire is to see that every member is equipped, being discipled, taught, helped and released in the gifts of the Spirit to do works of service, in the home, the church and the community.
Edifying
As each member of the local body is equipped and walking in the Lord's service, this will bring edification and encouragement locally, nationally and internationally.
Unity
This comes through knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and walking in obedience to His word. We see unity to be an essential part of the life of the church and will do all we can to keep the unity of the spirit of the bond of peace.
Fullness
As we flow together in the vision and word He speaks, we will move as one man. Our desire is to walk as He walked, anointed with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Growth
We believe that the Lord has called us to testify and share the good news about Jesus, to do the works of service which He has prepared. As we walk in this way this will result in growth
Every Part
We believe that every member of the body has a part to play in the advancement of the Kingdom of God. We desire to see every member fulfilled in that role.
Maturity
In all things our aim is to know Him better through all avenues of church life, moving towards maturity.
We believe in the five-fold ministry gifts of apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists and desire to see each of the five gifts operate in and be released out, from the local setting.
In February 1996 the church was birthed through the hearts of Paul and Kjersti Hubbard who we recognize and honour as an apostolic ministry not just to us as a local church but to other churches and the nations of the world. Paul and Kjersti led the church as pastors from 1996 until January 2007 when Adam Carver was set in place as Pastor.
This allowed Paul and Kjersti to be released from the day to day running of the church and to focus more sharply on their calling to apostolic ministry. They remain very much a part of what we do locally and oversee the church underpinning its foundations in Apostolic Christianity. The church has a wider leadership team which assist Adam and Faye in the outworking of the vision.
Paul & Kjersti Hubbard have been in full time ministry for over 20 years. They have apostolic oversight of a number of ministries in the UK as well as ministries in Italy, Kenya, Nepal, USA and Paraguay. They have 3 children; Joshua, Maria and Rebecca.
Adam has been involved in leading God's people since the age of 16. In January 2005 he and his family moved to Shipley, and he worked for 2 days a week with the church to be trained by Paul and Kjersti as a gift to the body of Christ.
In January 2007 he became the full-time pastor of Christian Life Church, releasing Paul and Kjersti from the day to day running of the church. In April 2007 Adam's first wife, Ange died very suddenly of natural causes. Through this time the whole church have seen God's wonderful provision and healing in many ways. The greatest of which was the LORD's provision of a wife for Adam and a mum for the boys in Faye. Adam and Faye were married in May 2008. In 2007 Faye spent a year being trained in music at Covenant College School of Worship. God has given them three young boys; Joshua, Isaac and Samuel.

Youth Group (13-18yrs)
We have a thriving youth group who meet weekly on a Tuesday evening at our church building. They receive teaching on a wide range of topics aimed at their particular needs. They also get opportunities to use their gifts and talents in our Sunday meetings from time to time and in previous years have gone on Missions trip to Spain and Cleveland in the USA.
“See & Know” Parent & Toddler Group
Our toddler group meets every Wednesday during term time at the church building. There are lots of toys for the children to play with, crafts to complete and a snack. Part of the time the children are led in singing and playing instruments whilst hearing truth about Father God's love for them. We see this as a valuable time for both parents and children to interact together with other parents and children.
IMPACT Children's Club (6-12yrs)
IMPACT is our weekly children's club which runs on a Friday evening during term time and caters for 6-12 year olds. It is held within the hall of Bradford Christian School in the Bolton Woods area of Bradford as a number of the children attending come from that area. The evening is a mix of Bible based teaching and fun and games where children can have fun at the same time as learning about the God we believe in as a church.
Football
A number of the young (and not so young!) men enjoy playing football together every fortnight on a Monday evening. This is a time to enjoy playing sport together and try and keep fit!
Discipleship Groups (Mid-week groups)
Discipleship groups are our mid-week groups and we believe them to be key to the personal growth of each member of the church. They are not bible studies but are places where we can start to live out what we already know.
These times therefore are opportunities to outwork the things that have been taught at a Sunday gathering into our lives. They are places of encouragement as well as challenge, places where we can build relationships with others so that we might come to a place of being free to be ourselves.
Freedom in Christ Course
The Freedom in Christ course runs for 13 weeks including a full Saturday and it exists to help Christians resolve these issues by understanding the truth about their identity in Christ and the spiritual battle they are in.
For more information you can visit the Freedom in Christ Website.
Sunday Worship
We meet every Sunday at 10:30 to gather together as one body. During this time we seek to honour and bless the LORD through singing, praying, giving and hearing the Word of God being taught. As we seek to be a blessing to Him, we believe that He desires to bless us and speak to us through every part of our time together.
Children remain with their families for most of our time together. Children between the ages of 2 & 8 are catered for every Sunday morning and children between 9 and 12 are catered for 2 meetings a month.
Local Community Work
We are specifically involved in the community of Bolton Woods. We seek to sow into and bless this community in a number of ways. Our children's club (IMPACT) is held in this community using a local school hall and all children are welcome.
We also have a contract with the local community centre to supply staff for the Bolton Woods Childcare Nursery. The Nursery takes both 2 and 3 year olds and also runs crèches for younger children when their parents are attending courses in the centre.
SPACE
SPACE is a monthly gathering where we express our worship to Jesus in various ways. In previous times together we have written new lyrics to existing tunes, learnt about what the Bible says about dance and encouraged one another to use our gifts and talents in our regular Sunday morning meetings.
